JSFL offers free access to readers. In this way, the most up-to-date research publications in the field, scholarly work, innovative teaching practices and pedagogical development can be disseminated among the readers in the first instance without the traditional barriers of subscription and membership.

Articles are generally published under the licence of Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial and Non-Derivative 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) unless specifically requested by the author or the sponsor and meeting the publisher's requirements for Crative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
